WoT meets AtLA! This is just what I’d imagine would happen, if somehow, by some crazy, random happenstance, the Wheel of Time characters were to meet the characters from ‘Avatar’.
I know it’s not entirely accurate, but I just pretty much did this for the lulz.

[Edit]: Haha, I've been feeling a bit guilty for not explaining better what The Wheel of Time is.
It's pretty much the ultimate, epic, cheesy fantasy book series, written by Robert Jordan. It's quite a long series, so read at your own risk. It's brilliantly written, though, and the characters are amazing.
I just saw so many similarities and parallels to 'Avatar, the Last Airbender', and I couldn't help doodling it out.

Egwene/Aang - They both start out a bit on the naïve side. They’re a little impatient and reckless, wanting to learn everything at once, but very caring and empathetic. They start out (sort of) as novices, and are raised to the next level at a much earlier age than usual. They both grow a lot in character throughout their stories, and they gain a lot of wisdom and become much more responsible. Also, they’re both suddenly thrown into positions of power, and have to figure out their own ways of handling it.
They both kind of feel that they have no home to go back to - Egwene, because her home has changed so much, and Aang, because he has nothing left to go back to.
By the end of both series, you just become ridiculously proud of how awesome these two characters become.

Toph/Birgitte - Pretty much badass. Both of them. They’re very much the sassy, tomboy types who are amazingly skilled at what they do. They may seem to have a tough exterior, but, deep down, they really care a lot about their friends.
They both show up about halfway through the series. Nynaeve and Birgitte seem to argue and squabble just as much as Katara and Toph, at times, too. XD
Also, Birgitte and Mat are freaking awesome drinking buddies. It's like Sokka and Toph. I would totally ship them, (both Mat/Birgitte and Tokka - if they didn't have such awesomely cute canon pairings already.)
Also, sadly, they're among the few characters that deserve some good romance, but, unfortunately, don't get any.

Sokka/Mat - I’ve compared these two before. Both of them are the comic relief characters, (and the butt of a lot of jokes), and they’re completely whiny and sarcastic. They are also prankster types, and act as the clowns of the groups.
There’s a lot more to them than meets the eye, though - they’re both innovative and sharp-witted inventors, and, although neither of them has any power, they’re really skilled at fighting with a wide array of various weapons. They’re also great battle strategists.
(They also happen to get all the ladies.)
Behind it all, they’re compassionate people who always stick up for those they care about, and they never go back on their words.
Mat also seems to have quite a bit of Jet’s charming attitude, but he’s nowhere near as obsessed and crazy as the guy was, though.

Nynaeve/Katara - Firstly - they sort of have the same hairstyle. Honestly, though, they’re both very powerful, (in each of their own skills) They both have healing abilities, and act as a mother figure towards their groups. Despite often being stubborn and having a bit of a bad temper, they both love and care very much for their friends and family, and will do almost anything within their power to help those in need. (Also, just forgot, but they both have (sort of) betrothal necklace-things.) Hmm.

Lanfear/Azula - Just a little bit on the crazy side. Dangerous, obsessive, and always using manipulation to get what they want. Sociopathic, misunderstood types.

Mai/Lan - Stoic, dark types with wry senses of humor. They don't often show their emotions at all - but they really do have a caring side. Also - they're both very deadly and extremely skilled with each of their certain areas of expertise in weapons and stealth.

Zuko/Rand - Angsty and obsessed with honor. Also, incredibly dorky. Deep, guilt-wracked characters. Just as a side note - both of their mothers were royalty who mysteriously ‘disappeared’.

Faile/Suki - Warrior women, great leaders, practical, rather caring, (Faile, more so towards the end of the series.), and are very protective of their guys. A little jealous from time to time.

Thom/Iroh - Sort of the old farts of the group. They’re both very wise and kind, though. They’re also involved with secret societies and politics, and are rather musically inclined.
(Also forgot - they've both experienced the loss of close family members: Thom lost his nephew, whom he cared about a lot, to the Red Ajah, and Iroh lost his son, Lu Ten, during his siege of Ba Sing Se.)

Ty Lee/Elayne - Sort of the blondes of their groups. They’re usually optimistic and sensitive, and very perceptive of other’s feelings, though. They’ve also both had some circus experience. Don't be fooled by their appearances, though. These girls can seriously kick some ass.

Haru/Perrin - Sensitive tough guys with unfortunate, and rather controversial, facial hair.

Moiraine/Pakku - Wise mentors and instructors, with dark senses of humor and a slightly old-fashioned outlook on the world. Also, they’re totally awesome.

Oh... And I totally think Seanchan would make an awesome Fire Nation...

Whoa, also - the 'Hall of the Portraits' in the Fire Nation royal palace totally reminds me of the panels of the Queens in the Caemlyn Palace! The Maidens of the Spear are pretty much exactly like the Kyoshi Warriors. (Although the Sandbenders reminded me a bit of the Aiel.) The Spirit World is an awful lot like Tel'aran'rhiod. And, also, Rand and Aang both have tattoos.
Also, the Dragon and Avatar are both reincarnated beings in charge of keeping balance in the world...
Plus, both worlds use the same powers. Just in different ways.
